Energiya Civilian Engineer (1997)
Civilian engineer Fydor Yurchikhin completed three missions to the International Space Station (ISS) over an 8 year period. During his first mission in October 2002 he served as a Russian mission specialist on the American STS-112 assembly mission. The next two were long duration missions, the first of which saw him assume the command of the ISS-15 expedition, flying aboard Soyuz TMA spacecraft to and from the station. In August 2011 he was named to a fourth mission, again as station expedition commander and with a scheduled launch in May 2014, but after only four months preparation he was replaced in the training group and in February 2012 left the Cosmonaut team.
