GO AT THROTTLE UP
A FLIGHT ON THE SPACE SHUTTLE

For thirty years between 1981 and 2011, the American space shuttle was the popular image of flying into space.  During 135 missions scores of astronauts experienced the thrill of launch, the fun of orbital life and the challenges of re-entry.  This presentation reveals what it was really like to sit on an orbiter and get blasted into space and explains the detail and experiences of a "typical" flight on the shuttle using extracts and reports from across the missions.  This updated lecture is based upon the 1987 joint work with Harry Siepmann
