CHINA'S MANNED SPACE PROGRAMME
The Chinese manned space programme has been shrouded in secrecy and mystery for years. Following an aborted start during the early 1970's, the programme was re-launched in 1992. A series of unmanned launches from the late 1990's was followed by the first manned Chinese spaceflight in 2003. This was followed by an extended flight of a few days, the first Chinese EVA and the first flights of female Chinese crew members. This lecture reveals the hidden history of the Chinese effort to place its citizens in space, recent developments and achievements and plans for the future, including manned landings on the moon.
