Apollo 10
Apollo 10 was flown as the final dress rehearsal for the first lunar landing attempt on the next mission two months later. Flying a trajectory as close to the Apollo 11 mission as possible many of the milestones of that historic mission were performed on this the fourth manned Apollo mission. The only phase of the full lunar landing not attempted was the final descent and landing on the surface, the EVA and ascent. Apollo 10 represented the first time the complete Apollo spacecraft had flown in lunar orbit In addition evaluation of the LM around the moon, and additional lunar observations and photography made this a bust and important flight
